Luke Childress
Luke began work as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Song Lab in January, 2026. His research journey began in 2017 in a small nanotechnology lab based out of the University of Arkansas. After completing his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, he spent eight months as a research fellow at Trinity College Dublin establishing a novel surgical model of bone fracture repair before relocating to Arizona. His research has centered around utilizing preclinical surgical models to understand physiological responses to mechanical stress, immune phenotypes, cellular senescence, and, now at the University of Arizona, peripheral nerve regeneration. His ultimate goal is to apply rigorous and interdisciplinary research techniques to develop novel therapies for tissue regeneration.
